Student Life

  • Health Science is an engaging, hands-on elective designed for students interested in exploring the fields of healthcare, medicine, and human biology. Under the direction of Ms. McBride, students gain a deeper understanding of how the human body functions, how diseases impact health, and the various roles and responsibilities of professionals in the healthcare industry.

     

     

  • In this creative elective, students explore various art techniques and mediums while learning the elements and principles of design. Guided by Ms. Alvarez, the class encourages self-expression, creativity, and artistic growth through hands-on projects and visual storytelling.

  • This course focuses on physical fitness, teamwork, and athletic skills through structured activities and sports. Led by Coaches E. Leanos, J. Muñoz, L. Peña, Y. Tomaselli, and N. Perez, students build strength, coordination, and sportsmanship while developing lifelong healthy habits. The program is supported by both male and female coaches, providing a well-rounded and inclusive athletic experience.

  • Students can explore their creative talents through a variety of fine arts programs:

    • Theatre Arts – Led by Ms. Petra Zapatero, students build confidence and creativity through acting, performance, and stage production.

    • Choir – Under the direction of Mr. John Peña, students develop vocal skills and perform a wide range of choral music.

    • Mariachi – Taught by Ms. Karina Lopez, this program offers training in string instruments and traditional mariachi music.

    • Band – Directed by Ms. Nicole Garcia, students learn instrumental techniques, music theory, and perform in concerts and events.

    Each program fosters artistic expression, discipline, and a love for the performing arts.

  • This elective introduces students to the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures through engaging lessons in vocabulary, grammar, and conversation. Instructors C. Garcia and H. Espino also explore traditions, history, and customs to deepen students’ appreciation of the diverse Spanish-speaking w

  • This elective offers students the chance to develop their dance skills through various styles and techniques. Led by A. Gomez, who also sponsors the Memorial Middle School Jr. Rubies and Folklorico, the class emphasizes creativity, rhythm, and performance, encouraging students to express themselves through movement.

  • This extracurricular activity empowers students to build school spirit, teamwork, and leadership through cheerleading. Led by Ms. Morales-Alvarez, cheerleaders perform at games and events, developing skills in dance, stunts, and crowd engagement while fostering school pride.

  • This course teaches students how to efficiently use touch-based data entry systems, focusing on accuracy and speed. Under Mr. Arizpe’s guidance, students develop practical skills in data management and technology that are essential for many modern workplaces.

  • This course provides students with essential financial literacy skills, including budgeting, saving, investing, and understanding credit. Under D. Cantu’s instruction, students learn how to manage money wisely to prepare for a financially secure future.
